Scott County Law Enforcement Memorial Scholarship 

Chris Madel grew up in Waseca, MN with his parents and three older siblings. Growing up, he worked at the nursing home owned and operated by his father and was an altar boy at Sacred Heart Church in Waseca. After graduating from Waseca High School, Chris attended Macalester College before attending Michigan Law School while working part-time. Other than a brief stint at the Department of Justice in Washington D.C., Chris has practiced law in Minnesota ever since earning his law degree. Over the course of his career, Chris has represented clients in many investigations, lawsuits, and trials (civil and criminal). Notable clients include Minnesota State Trooper Ryan Londregan, journalist Liz Collin, and Alpha News. Chris has won a Minnesota Lawyer “Attorney of the Year” award five times (2011, 2012, 2013, 2023, and 2024). Chris lives in the Hennepin County suburbs with his wife and two daughters.
